Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 1, 2026

RepairDock is a customer relationship system for mobile and electronics repair shops. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, shop dashboards, and customer portals, and how that information is used, stored, and protected.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information only to run the service, manage accounts, and keep the platform secure. Depending on how you use RepairDock, this may include:

  • Account and Profile Information: Names, contact details, and shop details you provide during registration. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google, used only to identify your account.
  • Operational and Service Data: Customer profiles, repair jobs and repair items, inventory records, and sales records that your shop enters into RepairDock.
  • Communications and Activity Logs: Messages exchanged through our chat tools and system activity logs that record administrative and user actions.
  • Technical Data: Standard server logs, IP addresses, browser information, and cookies needed for sessions and caching.
  • Google Drive Backup Data (only if you connect Drive): See section 2. Drive backup is optional and off by default; nothing is sent to Google Drive unless a shop owner connects a Drive account.

2. Google Drive Backup

RepairDock offers an optional backup feature that copies a shop's own business records to the shop owner's Google Drive account. This feature uses the Google Drive API scope drive.file. That scope is deliberately narrow: RepairDock can only create, read, and manage files that RepairDock itself created in your Drive. It cannot see, open, or change any of your other Drive files.

  • What a backup contains: A compressed (gzip) JSON export of that shop's own records only: the shop profile, customers, repairs and repair items, inventory items, and sales. Each backup file is named like repairdock-backup-shop-{shop-id}-{date-time}.json.gz. Photos and files uploaded to the site are not included in Drive backups.
  • When it runs: Every 12 hours, and only for shops that have connected a Drive account. Shops are backed up one at a time, never all at once.
  • Retention: After each successful upload, that shop's backup files older than 3 days are deleted from Drive automatically.
  • What we store: Your Drive account email address and an access token (refresh token) on our server, used only to upload your backups. We do not store your Google password, and we never use the token for anything other than your backups.
  • Where your backups go: Only to the Google Drive account you connected. We do not copy backup files anywhere else and do not share them with any third party.
  • Stopping it: On the Drive backup page, Disconnect deletes the stored token immediately and stops all future backups. You can also revoke RepairDock's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page (myaccount.google.com/permissions). Files already uploaded to your Drive stay there until you delete them from Drive yourself.

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected data strictly for legitimate operational purposes, including:

  • Running, maintaining, and improving the website, shop dashboards, and customer portals.
  • Processing repair jobs, tracking repair status, managing inventory, and operating internal communication tools.
  • Securing sign-in sessions and protecting against unauthorized access across shop and customer interfaces.
  • Running system maintenance routines, scheduled backups, and backend processing tasks such as daily cron jobs and cache management.

4. Data Disclosure and Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Disclosure is limited to the following:

  • Services you choose: When you connect Google Drive, your backup files are sent to your own Google Drive account, as described in section 2. When you use Google sign-in, Google provides us only with the profile details listed in section 1.
  • Infrastructure: Hosting and software services essential to running the platform, which process data only on our instructions.
  • Legal Compliance: When required by applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.

5. Data Security

We protect your information with technical and administrative controls, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted role-based staff permissions, and server-side access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe against unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, or destruction.

6. Your Rights and Data Management

You control your data. From your shop dashboard you can review and update your account information, export your data with the data takeout option, and request deletion of your account information. Drive backup can be disconnected at any time as described in section 2. To make a privacy request, contact us at the address in section 8.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Significant changes will also be announced inside the shop dashboard where practical.
